Michael Gorski is Will's father a retired police officer of the Chicago Police Department. He was assigned to the missing person's case of Sara Patrell that went unsolved. Due to an injury, he retired early and has been abusing alcohol ever since. The alcoholism becomes worse when Will disappears without warning, spending Christmas night with a visitor.
A year or so later, Michael collapses down a flight of stair, sustaining an injury that leaves him hospitalized and eventually died from shock. Through Riley, Will visits him in the hospital, apologizing for never updating him on his whereabouts.
